As a sound designer I hunted sound with microphones. Many years ago I realized that I was equally interested in hunting light, so I picked up a camera. I don't specialize in what I shoot. As I roam I capture how light plays to infuse interest, beauty, mystery or a story. With the camera I transfix a fleeting instant in time into an enduring visual record. The meditative process continues in editing, when I manipulate colour, exposure and framing to create an image that lies somewhere in the space between what happened in the moment and what I now want your eyes to see here.
